Scripture.

  • We affirm that “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
  • We affirm that Scripture is inspired of God, and that holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost, bringing us the very words of God himself. (2 Peter 1:21)
  • We affirm with Jesus, that the Scriptures cannot be broken, and that they are without error and are the very standard of Truth ( John 17:17). Since it’s “impossible for God to lie”, it’s impossible for the Scriptures to lie or make false statements. (Hebrews 6:18)
  • We affirm that through faithful copies and translations, the Word of God has been preserved throughout all generations and that “the word of our God shall stand forever.” (Isaiah 40:8) (Matthew 24:35)

God.

  • We affirm that the “LORD our God is one LORD” (Deuteronomy 6:4) (Isaiah 43:10) (Isaiah 44:6) (Mark 12:29). The Scriptures teach with absolute clarity, that there has and is and always will be ONE and ONLY ONE God.
  • We affirm that God is one in essence and three in person. The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:1). The Father is God (Philippians 1:2), The Son is God (Hebrews 1:8), The Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3–4), and yet there is only one God (1 Corinthians 8:4).
  • We affirm that God is omnipresent (Jeremiah 23:24) (Psalm 139:7-12).
  • We affirm that God is omnipotent (Job 42:2) (Psalm 147:5) (Romans 1:20) (Revelation 19:6).
  • We affirm that God is omniscience (Psalm 147:5) (Isaiah 40:28) (John 21:17) (Romans 11:33-36).

Man.

  • We affirm that man was created in God’s image (Genesis 1:27), and that he was morally good and innocent before the sight of God (Genesis 1:31).
  • We affirm that man disobeyed God, and thus brought a spiritual and physical death upon himself and his offspring (Genesis 3) (Romans 5). The result of the fall has brought mankind into a state of separation from God, and we are “by nature children of wrath” (Ephesians 2:3). Not only is man naturally in a state separated from God, but he has also chosen to sin against God of his own will (Romans 3:23).
  • We affirm that because God is perfectly just, all mankind stands guilty on judgment day (Romans 3:19). We have commited offences against the Holy, Infinte, Eternal God, and the only punishment fitting for such a crime is eternal damnation (2 Thessalonians 1:7-9).

Salvation.

  • We affirm that because God is just, He cannot let sinners go unpunished (Nahum 1:3). Justice has to be satisfied, and so this creates a great dilemma. If God were to let us go free, God wouldn’t be just. So salvation is impossible apart from a Redeemer. Justice demands a payment, and we are too vile to offer such a propitiation unto God (Isaiah 64:6).
  • We affirm that God is love (1 John 4:8-10), and that His plan of Salvation is in perfect accordance with His Holy, Just, Righteous character. Through the ransom and sacrifice of Christ (Mark 10:45) (1 John 2:2) God is able to redeem and forgive sinners, yet still remain perfectly just (Romans 3:23-26). Christ bore the wrath of God in our behalf (Galatians 3:13) (Isaiah 53) and has restored us unto God (1 Peter 3:18 ).
  • We affirm that through repentance and faith we receive the perfect payment of Christ to our account (Acts 20:21) (Ephesians 2:8-9). By faith God now imputes to us His righteousness (Romans 4:24) (2 Corinthians 5:21).
  • We affirm that not only does God justify us, He will sanctify us (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24). Good works of sanctification are not the means of salvation, but the result of salvation (Ephesians 2:10). Salvation is by faith alone, but that faith is never alone. Saving faith always results in good works (James 2), but those works are never the basis of ones justification before God. Once one becomes a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17) through faith alone (Romans 3:28), God begins working through him to bring about His will (Philippians 2:13).
  • We affirm that good works remain only the fruit of true faith after initial justification. At no point in a believers life do good works contribute, merit or retain salvation/justification. (Galatians 3:1-14)
  • We affirm that not only does God justify and sanctify us, He will glorify us (Romans 8:30). We will be given a new body (1 Corinthians 15:35-58) and we will live forever in His presence, seeing and savoring His Glory (Revelation 7:13-17) (2 Thessalonians 1:10).
